Yasmine J. Awais is an Associate Clinical Professor of Art Therapy in the Creative Art Therapies Department at the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Social Welfare at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Yasmine is a Board Certified, Registered Art Therapist and Art Therapy Certified Supervisor as conferred by the Art Therapy Credentials Board and is licensed as a Professional Counselor (PA) and Creative Arts Therapist (NY). Yasmine has diverse clinical and supervisory experiences, practicing in Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, New York, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. Her clinical expertise lies in non-profit organizations, particularly with underserved populations. She has presented and published on supervision, diversity related matters, and HIV. Prior to joining the board, Yasmine worked as an art therapist with Artistic Noise, providing individual, group, and family services to young people involved in NYC community corrections (probation).
